Nam Ngum 2 Hydropower Project

Powering Progress, Preserving Communities

The Nam Ngum 2 Hydropower Project represents PVD’s long-standing expertise in resettlement and environmental management. Since its inception, the project has focused on balancing energy generation with community development and ecological responsibility.

Located in Xaisomboun Province, Nam Ngum 2 is more than just a hydropower facility—it is a comprehensive resettlement initiative. PVD has overseen the construction of new villages, public infrastructure, and livelihood restoration programs for affected households. Alongside social commitments, PVD manages a long-term water quality monitoring program for the reservoir, ensuring sustainable environmental stewardship from 2006 through 2037. This project exemplifies PVD’s turnkey approach, delivering both technical excellence and social responsibility.
